Richard "Rick" Ungar is the senior political contributor to Forbes.com, co-host of Steele & Ungar on SiriusXM POTUS Channel and the Co-Host of "The Daily Wrap" on Newsmax TV. According to his Forbes bio he is also a paid Democratic strategist for Mercury Public Affairs, a lobby group for Democratic issues (see here: http://www.forbes.com/sites/rickungar/). He began appearing on "Forbes on Fox" in 2012. Previously, Ungar was a Hollywood writer and producer in television, particularly in the animation industry. He created and worked on ''Biker Mice From Mars'', which began its first run in the United States and the United Kingdom in 1993. ==Career== Ungar became president of Marvel Productions in 1991, with added responsibility in December 1992, for New World Family Filmworks and New World Action Animation. In fall 1993, his ''Biker Mice From Mars'', was launched in syndication.〔 After a short stint as Marvel Entertainment CEO, Ungar returned to oversee newly renamed New World Animation in November 1993. In August 1995, Ungar became president, first-run and animated programing of New World Entertainment.〔 Ungar in September 1998 was hired as chairman and CEO of Bohbot Kids Network. In November 1999, Ungar was hired by Marvel Enterprise as president of the Marvel Character Group, its IP and marketing group. In 2003, Ungar returned to producing. He produced the all new ''Biker Mice From Mars'', which launched in the UK in 2006, and quickly became the most popular Saturday morning television show in the country. However, its high ratings were not long lasting, as it didn't live up to the original series from the 90s and fans reaction was mostly negative. In 2009, Ungar left the animation world to begin writing for the online site, Culture11. From there he moved on to True/Slant before ending up at Forbes.com and The Washington Monthly, with op-eds from a liberal perspective. He also is a frequent guest on American radio programs. In May 2010, Ungar was hired as head writer and executive producer for 41 Entertainment, Allen Bohbot’s new animation company. Ungar also created, wrote and produced ''Legend of the Dragon'' which airs on broadcasts throughout the world, including Toon Disney in the United States. Ungar also co-created an all new version of the popular Zorro character, writing and producing "Zorro: Generation Z," along with his self-created series, "Dork Hunters From Outer Space," which was purchased for a two year run by UK television broadcaster, GMTV. Zorro: Generation Z was released internationally, but never received clearance to air in the U.S. market. It is particularly notable as one of the last programs released from BKN, which filed for insolvency in 2009. In addition to Ungar's work as Senior Political Contributor at Forbes.com, cast member on Fox News's "Forbes on Fox", his "Steele & Ungar" radio show on SiriusXM POTUS Channel, and work at Newsmax TV, he occasionally involves himself with an animation project.
